Slinging, Lifting, and Placing Course
The Federation and InfraTrain NZ have created a six hour couse to get your people up to speed and certified to unit standard 20875 - Demonstrate knowledge of slinging, lifting and placing with an excavator or loader. This is due to new requirements when using excavators for slinging, lifting and placing. DoL will be looking for evidence that operator(s) were suitably trained in slinging, lifting, and placing. Among other requirements the Code requires hose burst protection valves to be fitted to all machines used for lifting by January 2013

Annual Conference

Each year you will receive an invitation to attend the Annual Conference to hear about and discuss issues of concern to contractors. You will decide on the business plan for the Federation and elect the Federation’s governing body – the Executive Council. You will also be able to enjoy the fellowship of other contractors attending the conference. If you cannot attend you will still be able to let someone vote for you by proxy.

Hirepool Construction Awards
As a member you are invited to enter the annual Hirepool Construction Awards which recognises excellence in the New Zealand construction industry. Information on the awards and application forms are sent out each year in April. Please contact Malcolm Abernethy for more information.

Z People Awards

The Z People Awards was developed by NZCF with the assistance of Shell (now Z ) and in association with InfraTrain NZ to recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals within the Civil Construction Industry.
NZCF, Z and InfraTrain seeks your assistance to identify those individuals who deserve to have their success honoured for their commitment thier job and training over the past year. Please contact Tricia Sampson for more information.
Each year the Federation provides the opportunity for excavator operators to compete for the national title of "best multi skilled excavator operator nation wide". Competitions are held in each region with the national title being competed for at the Central Districts Field Days in Fielding in March.
